Symptoms of a Bad HVAC System
Poor Air Flow
Poor airflow can be caused by a wide variety of things. The most common is, by far, a clogged cabin air filter. Many people assume that their engine air filter provides both your cabin air and your engine, but that’s not true. Most heavy-duty vehicles have a separate air filter for their passenger compartment. Fortunately, this is an easy fix. Simply replacing it with a new one will get you back on the road. Other less common causes of poor airflow include air duct breaches, damaged condensers, and faulty thermostats.
If you’re starting to notice that there’s too much moisture in your passenger compartment, you probably need to get your evaporator coils cleaned. They’re responsible for removing condensation and moisture from your vehicle, but over time they can get clogged up too. This may also indicate a problem with your heater core, as they, too, can experience wear and tear over time.
